learn More about the wSL chinese boxing club
Ving Tsun, as taught by the late Wong Shun Leung, adheres to three simple principles. Simple, Direct and Efficient. Ving Tsun is a practical skill, not an art.

The beginning
The Ving Tsun Chinese Boxing club was established in 1998 by Enzo Verratti, a dedicated practitioner of Ving Tsun since 1979. He initiated his Ving Tsun journey under the guidance of Sifu David Peterson. His relationship with Sifu David Peterson began as a diligent student and
founding member of the Melbourne Chinese Martial Arts Club evolving over time to include instructional responsibilities and conducted weekly Wednesday night classes for several years.
During this period, he honed his skills through further trips to Hong Kong, training at Sifu Wong Shun Leung’s school. He has actively participated in various Wong Shun Leung seminars hosted by Sifu David Peterson in Melbourne. This background culminated in the founding of the WSL Ving Tsun Chinese Boxing Club in 1998. Since then, he has been an independent instructor,
imparting his extensive knowledge and mastery of Ving Tsun to his students. He
is also a member of the Wong Shun Leung Students Association.

The WSL approach
Ving Tsun employs a select few techniques that are scientifically designed to be versatile and effective across various situations. This strategic approach minimises the number of techniques needed, making the system more practical and applicable. Through consistent practice of these principles and techniques in a variety of drills, your body gradually internalizes them, incorporating them into its fundamental movement patterns. This adaptation enables you to move swiftly, correctly, and instinctively without conscious thought.
Ving Tsun is a meticulously designed system that aims to implement universal principles of effective fighting behaviours, which have proven successful. The goal is to enable practitioners to move in a secure and efficient manner, reacting instinctively without the need for conscious thought.

Wong Shun Leung participated in numerous bare knuckle-fighting contests during the mid-50's to the mid 60's. Wong Shun Leung established Wing Chun as a formidable fighting system. And it is his method of Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) that is practiced at the Ving Tsun Chinese Boxing Club. The late action movie actor Bruce Lee made the system famous. Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) formed the basis of his own system Jeet Kune Do.
